This millenary ancestral practice that has entertained wise men, mmmm, well I exaggerate and neither millenary nor ancestral, neither ancient, but it sure is entertaining Blackjack, in fact, it is one of the favourite games of gambling fanatics and I wouldn’t imagine the splendour of Las Vegas without Blackjack, a card game that has contributed directly to the popularity of casinos and gambling all over the world.
But let’s start with the basics, which I’m sure many of you already know, but when you’re talking in depth about a subject, you should start with the basics.
What is Blackjack?

It is a card game of chance that is mainly played in casinos and consists of getting exactly twenty-one points or getting as close as possible to them without exceeding them; initially each player receives two cards and can ask the dealer for more as long as they do not exceed twenty-one points.
So you see, in theory it sounds very easy to play Blackjack, with such simple and straightforward rules, anyone can play it and even win, right?
Well, knowing the essence of Blackjack, you have to understand how bets and winnings are made, and normally a winning hand is bet on a 1:1 basis, that is, if you bet $20, you get another $20, plus your initial bet for a total of $40.
Now, there are exceptions in Blackjack and if on your first two cards you hit the famous number 21, which is more than impossible, a matter of luck, the house or rather the dealer will pay the bettor a 3:2 ratio and if your bet was $20, the payout will be $50.
The only case where no bet is paid, even if you get 21, is when the dealer also gets 21, in which case it is a push and only the amount bet will be returned to the player.
Now you know the basics of Blackjack, a relatively simple game, which can give you a lot of money in a few cards or take it away and often has nothing to do with luck but with the right game strategy.
How to win at Blackjack

Some people advise that the only advice, redundantly, is for the gambler to evaluate the bet and the number of his cards, i.e. if the value of the cards on the table add up to more than 16 points, that is the point at which he is risking losing the game.
But besides this obvious advice, there are many strategies designed to help you know how to win at Blackjack and the basic strategy is card counting:
- If you have 17 and 21, don’t ask for more, you already have a good combination.
- If you have 12 and 16, don’t ask for more if the value of the dealer’s cards is 6 or less.
- If you have 9 and 11, ask for
- Less than 8, ask for more if the dealer has more.
- Never split two 10’s
Now never forget that there are no sure bets and yes, the luck factor always plays a part. For more information visit the following website with everything you need to know to win at Blackjack.
